Dear Santa / Father Christmas / Kris Kringle / Coca-Cola dude,
I know it’s been a while since I last wrote to you, and don’t worry, I won’t be asking for a new bike, or a Commodore 64 this time round. I’ve grown up a little since then.
It’s nearly Christmas, and I know you want to make sure that your child(ren)’s letter to Santa Claus gets to him. Royal Mail just received the message below from Father Christmas himself – he’s as excited about Christmas as we are!
Santa says to get your letter posted by Friday 8 December. And he will try to reply to as many children as possible before the big day.

Well, I’m still not sure what it’s about, but it’s here, and it’s staying for the foreseeable future.
Twelve blog posts, and three recipe pages, later, and I’m still finding my feet. Perhaps that will always be the case. Perhaps this blog will be as chaotic as my own thoughts. I gave Mama Mama and Daddy a little lie in this morning. Not because I was being nice, but because I really couldn’t be arsed to get up and stand at the end of my cot like I do every morning, and chant about Dodos until one of the servants came to get me.
I don’t know what it is about Dodos, but screaming Dodo over and over again seems to encourage some early morning attention from them. Sometimes I like to mix things up and chant about Dido. Read more
So today is my birthday. My first as a Mother. I’ve had messages from friends and family asking if I’ve had a lovely day. And as much as I have so far, I’ve realised that, for the time being at least, celebrating my birthday won’t be the same again. Someone else now takes priority over me; Baby E. As such, it got me thinking about how much of their lives my parents gave up when they had me, and so, Mum and Dad, this post is for you….
